Electromyography is performed by using a small pin with a recording electrode being inserted into a muscle. The electrical signal within the muscle is then recorded at rest and with activation. The recording can tell us if there are neuropathic or myopathic abnormalities.
Neuromuscular ultrasound is used to evaluate soft tissues such as nerves, tendons, ligament, muscles, etc. It can help identify anatomical abnormalities and complement the electrodiagnostic exam to provide further diagnostic accuracy.
